MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police are searching for the suspects who they said took off as officers responded to a call about a train boxcar burglary.
MPD officers responded to the call just before 1:30 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2024, in the 1700 block of Evelyn Ave. just west of South McLean in Midtown Memphis. When officers arrived, they said they saw several vehicles take off in different directions. They said one was a white pick-up, another was a silver Infiniti.
Investigators found a boxcar open, with 65” Samsung TVs scattered in several places, including on the loading dock of a vacant business next to it, at the rail tracks behind the scene, and in the woods. They said officers located more than 30 TVs throughout the area. They said they also found 20 Huley/Puma women’s clothing boxes.
Officers said they also found an undetermined number of TVs at the intersection of Lamar Ave. and Kyle St.
Investigators said a white truck matching the description of one of the suspect vehicles was found in the 1900 block of Quinn Ave. They said a witness told them a woman had run away from the vehicle, which was seized and fingerprints were taken.
