BROWNSVILLE, Tenn — A murder-suicide investigation is underway after a Shelby County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) deputy and his wife were found dead at their home in Brownsville over the weekend, according to the Haywood County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO).

HCSO said they responded to a possible domestic violence situation involving a firearm Oct. 14 around 10:30 p.m. in the 300 block of Tj Mize Road in Brownsville, where deputies found SCSO deputy Anthony Lee, 55, and his wife, 49-year-old Sharon Lee, dead in a pickup truck with apparent gunshot wounds in their heads.

There was a firearm in Anthony’s lap, deputies said.

According to HCSO, the woman who called the deputies said Sharon had contacted her throughout the day about marriage problems.

The person said Sharon came home around 7 p.m. Saturday. They talked again around 10 p.m. when Sharon said her husband pointed a gun at her, threatening to kill her.

HCSO said the person then heard Anthony pick up the phone and say he could not live without Sharon, and if he could not have her no one else could. The call then ended, and the person called HCSO, who found the couple dead soon after.

Sharon worked for the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, according to HCSO.

HCSO said they have not responded to any previous calls of any type at the Lee’s home. This is an ongoing investigation.
