Olive Branch officers shoot, kill suspect while serving arrest warrant for child pornography

Officers with the Olive Branch SWAT Team were attempting to serve an arrest warrant at a residence on Railroad Avenue.

OLIVE BRANCH, Miss — A man was fatally shot around Railroad Ave. in Olive Branch on the morning of Sept. 16, 2024.

Officers with the Olive Branch SWAT Team were attempting to serve a search warrant at a house near 9142 Railroad Ave. at around 9:30 a.m. in relation to two counts of child pornography against 68-year-old Mark Miller, according to the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI). 

When officers tried to arrest him, Miller shot at officers, after which the officers returned fire, killing the suspect, said the MBI in a statement. 

No officers were hurt during the incident. 

MBI says they were notified of the incident at around 10 a.m.
