COLLIERVILLE, Tenn. — The Collierville Police Department is searching for men who fired gunshots while trying to rob a woman Tuesday night.
Police responded to an attempted armed robbery call around 10:50 p.m. near Peterson Lake Road and West Nolley Drive.
A woman reported that there were suspects wearing ski masks in a white Jeep Cherokee. Dispatch also had received multiple reports of shots fired in the area.
Officers found the jeep at Peterson Lake and Hillwood Lane, chasing the suspects south to Poplar and west to Byhalia. The chase continued on Highway 385 to Forrest Hill Irene Road, where officers lost the jeep.
The woman, who had been in Memphis, told police she may have been followed home, but was not sure where the suspects began following her before the attempted robbery took place.
When she arrived home, a white Cherokee pulled into the driveway. Two men wearing ski masks and all black came out and demanded she hand over her vehicle. A third suspect stayed inside the Cherokee.
She refused their demand and managed to run away. The suspects fired multiple shots at her vehicle during the incident.
