MEMPHIS, Tenn — A man who escaped police custody in Memphis during inclement weather reportedly turned himself back into custody within an hour.
On Sunday night, Memphis Police said they were told around 10 p.m. that 20-year-old Demarkus Davis escaped custody from another agency.
By 10:35 p.m. he asked a civilian to call police so that he could turn himself in. Memphis Police said he was found in the 100 block of Madison and then transported to jail.
Davis is charged with one count of escape and two counts of rape of a child, according to the records from the Shelby County Sheriff's Office.
