Memphis Police release video of Westwood shooting that injured man

MPD said officers responded to an aggravated assault just before 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 28, 2023, in the 4100 Block of Weaver Road.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police have released video of a shooting Tuesday in Westwood which left a man injured.

MPD said officers responded to an aggravated assault just before 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 28, 2023, in the 4100 Block of Weaver Road. 

Investigators said the victim was sitting in a vehicle when two suspects began firing shots at those inside. They said the vehicle was hit several times, and a passenger was hit in the leg. MPD said they drove to a nearby fire station, and the man was taken to Regional One in critical condition. 

Police usually ask anyone with information to call CrimeStoppers at 901-528-CASH.

Correction: Originally after the shooting, Memphis Police said the man had walked into a fire station with severe injuries from a shooting. They corrected that in the video release on Nov. 30. 

Aggravated Assault 4100 Block of Weaver Road Report #2311031466ME MEMPHIS, TN – On November 28, 2023, at 7:25 p.m., officers responded to the 4100 Block of Weaver Road regarding an Aggravated Assault. Officers located a victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to Regional One in critical condition. Officers advised that the victim was sitting in her vehicle when two unknown Black male suspects began firing shots at them. The suspects struck the vehicle multiple times and one of the passengers in the leg. This is an ongoing investigation. The suspects are described as the following: The suspects are Two Black males wearing all dark clothing. Officers are seeking the assistance of the public to identify these suspects.
