Memphis Police said officers responded to the shooting Monday at Danny Thomas Boulevard and Mississippi Boulevard near Booker T. Washington High School.
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man is dead after a shooting happened Monday in Downtown Memphis.
The Memphis Police Department said officers responded to the shooting April 8 around 11 a.m. at Danny Thomas Boulevard and Mississippi Boulevard near Booker T. Washington High School, where they found a man with an apparent gunshot wound. He was taken to Regional One Health, where he was pronounced dead.
Police said the car responsible was a black Chevrolet Malibu, which was last seen driving eastbound on Mississippi Boulevard. MPD also released a video of the car following the shooting.
A little more than an hour later, a man was killed and a woman and 2-year-old child were critically injured in another shooting not far from the first, in the area of Crump Boulevard and Mississippi Boulevard.
MPD is asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH.

Upon making the scene, a male victim was located unresponsive suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to Regional One Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Video of the shooting was obtained. The responsible vehicle, a black Chevrolet Malibu, was last seen east bound Mississippi Boulevard.
