MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Memphis restaurant owner has died from injuries he received in a shooting early Sunday evening in Whitehaven, the second person to die in the shooting.
MPD said the shooting took place Oct. 29, 2023, in the 3200 block of Elvis Presley Boulevard. They said two victims were found shot. One died at the scene. The other was taken to Regional One Hospital in critical condition, according to MPD.
Family members confirmed to ABC24 the victim taken to the hospital was Alfonzo Turner Jr. Many know the Memphian as the owner of The Table Restaurant, which is also in the 3200 block of Elvis Presley. They told us Monday that Turner died from his injuries.
Family members said Turner just had a baby and had recently celebrated his 30th birthday earlier this month.
This is an ongoing investigation, according to MPD.
