MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A woman is seriously hurt, and another person has been detained in a shooting that blocked an intersection early Monday morning near the Medical District.
The Memphis Police Department responded to a prowler complaint June 24, 2024, around 5 a.m. in the 800 block of Faxon Avenue, where officers found a woman suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. She was taken to Regional One Health in critical condition.
The incident left the North Parkway and North Dunlap Street intersection blocked. Roads have since reopened.
Investigators later said one person had been detained and taken to the hospital in non-critical condition.
The investigation is ongoing.
