MEMPHIS, Tenn. — According to Memphis Police, two people were charged after shots were fired outside of the FedExForum in two incidents in the area of Ida B. Wells around 7 p.m. Friday.
37-year-old Kelvin Young was charged with several charges including aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon and violation of bail conditions.
He was also charged with theft of a firearm, which 25-year-old Miciah Warren was also charged with.
MPD said they responded to the shots fired call around 7 p.m. Three men were involved in the incident, and police took them into custody.
Police said the victims and suspects in the shooting were known to each and this was a targeted attack.
Memphis Police said no one was injured.
During the incident, a Memphis Police officer who was working a traffic detail nearby, fired his service weapon, police said. No one was hit by the gunfire, according to police. A bystander fell down during this incident and received minor injuries.
As a response to the incident, Memphis Police says they are adding additional security measures and "increasing visibility" downtown.
