MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A woman is recovering from a gunshot wound after Memphis Police said she was shot during a road rage incident in South Memphis early Friday morning.
Memphis Police said officers responded to a Memphis Fire station at Elvis Presley Blvd. and Effie Road, where a woman arrived with a gunshot wound alongside two other people.
The officers spoke with the victims, who said they were at Mallory Avenue and Riverport Road in South Memphis at a traffic light when their car was shot at.
Police said they were driving on Mallory Avenue when suspects tried to get over in the victims' lane but couldn't, so they started shooting at the victims' car.
The driver was hit by gunfire, and later taken to the hospital in non-critical condition. The other two people in the car were not hit, and denied medical attention on the scene.
Memphis Police said they are looking for a gray newer-model Toyota Camry.
