MILLINGTON, Tenn. — The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) opened an investigation into a shooting that took place after a Tipton County Sheriff’s deputy and a suspect exchanged gunfire on in Millington on Sunday, Oct. 6, according to a press release from TBI.
Deputies with the Tipton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call about a person threatening residents with a gun at a house on Fleetwood Drive in Millington. Upon arrival, the deputy encountered an armed man refusing to cooperate with the deputy while making suicidal threats according to a social media post made by Tipton County Sheriff, Shannon Beasley. The deputy and the suspect, who was identified as 18-year-old Logan Fitzpatrick by TBI, exchanged gunfire before Fitzpatrick was shot and killed. The deputy was not injured.
TBI has launched an investigation on this incident, updates will be provided as more information is revealed.
