MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police have released video of the thieves who broke into a GameStop in midtown earlier this month, stealing gaming consoles.

MPD officers responded to a burglary alarm call Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2024, around 5 a.m. in the 1600 block of Union Avenue, where officers saw broken plywood leaving a hole in the front of the store. They said several boxes had been ransacked in the back storage room, and its door was damaged.

Police said video footage showed three suspects — wearing all black clothing and gloves — break into the game store with a sledgehammer, stealing an undetermined number of PlayStation 5 gaming consoles, costing $500 each. In total, investigators said about $10,000-15,000 had been stolen from the store.

Police said the suspects were in a GMC pickup truck, a black sedan (possibly a Nissan Sentra), and a silver FORD F150 with a green dual axle utility trailer with chrome rims. A “$ Cash for Pallets $” sign is on the rear driver's side passenger door of the Ford F150.
