Threats of violence made against multiple Bartlett schools

BARTLETT, Tenn — A threat of violence was made against Bartlett High School and Bartlett Ninth Grade academy on Friday, Sept. 27 according to an email sent out by Bartlett City Schools.

The situation appears to be a trend in the Mid-South and nationwide, according to officials, with this marking the fourth school threat made against Memphis-Shelby County Schools during the week of Sept. 23.

Bartlett Police Department and the Department of Homeland Security were made aware of the threat and have said they will closely monitor the school along with school security personnel, according to the email.

ABC24 reached out to Bartlett City Schools and Bartlett Police Department for further comment but did not hear back.

Bartlett City Schools will release more information as this incident develops.
