MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A truck driver transporting Google products was riding down Lamar Avenue near the Memphis airport early Thursday morning when she heard a gunshot and then realized she had been shot.
The Memphis Police Department responded to the shooting April 4, 2024, around 5 a.m. in the 3500 block of Lamar Avenue.
According to police, a woman told officers she had been riding south on Lamar Avenue in a tractor trailer carrying Google merchandise when she heard what sounded like a gunshot.
The driver heard a second gunshot and felt she had been shot, pulling over and then seeing a wound in her leg.
The woman believed the bullet came from a black car with dark tinted windows that appeared to have been following her, the police report said.
She was taken to a hospital in non-critical condition.
