TUNICA, Miss — Two teens were shot Thursday night in Tunica, Mississippi, and the Tunica County Sheriff's Office said their mother was the one who found them suffering from gunshot wounds.

Sheriff deputies said they arrived to a shooting call Thursday around 8:45 p.m. to a house on Beatline Road. There, a woman approached them, saying she found her two teenaged sons suffering from gunshot wounds.

The Sheriff's Office said they learned the shooting happened outside of the nearby Cotton Land Village Apartments at 1655 Beatline Road in Tunica. Authorities said a private ambulance treated the teens while on scene.

Deputies said the teens who were shot, a 16-year-old and 14-year-old, were taken to Regional One Hospital in Memphis. The Sheriff's Office said both victims are expected to survive their injuries.

Investigators said their preliminary investigation found a nearby apartment had been hit by gunfire.

The Sheriff's Office said this is an ongoing investigation, and anyone with information should call them at 662-363-1411.
