18-year-old charged with murder, terrorism in Halloween night shooting in West Memphis

WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. — A 19-year-old man is dead after a shooting in West Memphis, Arkansas, Tuesday night, and police have an 18-year-old in custody charged with murder and terrorism.

West Memphis Police said at around 7:08 p.m. Tuesday, their officers responded to the 100 block of East Broadway in reference to shots being fired. 

Officers arrived to the scene to find a man on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. West Memphis Police said officers began life saving measures until he could be taken to Regional One Hospital, but ultimately he did not survive his injuries. 

The man was identified as 19-year-old T'Kai Gardner of West Memphis. 

On Wednesday, West Memphis Police said detectives developed 18-year-old Joshua Millen of West Memphis as a suspect. Millen was taken into custody Wednesday without incident. 

Millen was charged with first-degree murder and terroristic act.
