MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Westbound traffic on Interstate 240 has been shut down because of a Memphis Police Department investigation.

MPD officers responded to a shooting call at I-240 and Walnut Grove and are checking the area for a crime scene, MPD officials said.

A female victim drove themself to St. Francis hospital, and is considered to be in critical condition.

No suspect information has been made available and it is an ongoing investigation, according to MPD officials.

The city had multiple shootings in close proximity on I-240 earlier this year, including one with four juvenile victims in the car. That shooting was allegedly caused by road rage, according to MPD officials.

Eighteen-year-old Lorenzo Watson and 21-year-old Kendrick Ray are in jail, both facing a host of charges, including six counts each of attempted first-degree murder from that shooting.
