Woman detained after pedestrian was struck along Winchester Rd.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police said a woman was detained after a pedestrian was struck Thursday afternoon.

MPD officers responded to the crash about 1:30 p.m. March 14, 2024, in the 1600 block of Winchester Rd., not far from Millbranch, west of Memphis International Airport.

One man was taken to Regional One Hospital in critical condition.

Investigators have not said what, if any, charges the woman or any others could face.

Memphis Police said from Jan. 1, 2024 to March 1, there were 68 pedestrian crashes and seven fatal crashes. That compares to 104 pedestrian crashes and 12 fatal crashes for the same time period in 2023.
