MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis-Shelby County Schools wants to make sure seniors are ready for life after high school.
Tuesday, the district held its first ‘Adulting 101’ event at the Agricenter. It covered things one needs to know throughout life, such as bank accounts, credit, taxes, budgeting, and paying for college.
The event also had companies come to talk to students about their options after graduation. Seniors who are getting ready for both college or getting ready to join the workforce were invited.
There was also a voter registration drive and participating students had the chance to win one of four Dell laptops.
This was the first district-wide event of its type.
