Collierville School Board member resigns after arrest for thefts from Target

Keri Blair was serving her first term after being elected to School Board Position 4 in November 2022.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — After serving for a little over a year, Collierville Schools board member Keri Blair has resigned after being charged in a series of thefts.

School Board Chairman Wright Cox said he received notice Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2024, that Blair was resigning for “personal, family reasons.”

Blair was serving her first term after being elected to School Board Position 4 in November 2022. 

According to Collierville Police, Blair was arrested on Jan. 5, 2024, on charges of theft of property. She is out of jail after posting $1,000 bond.

CPD investigators said Target is prosecuting after thefts on seven different dates in November and December 2023. According to the court affidavit, Blair was caught on video at the self-checkout, where she would skip scanning some items. The affidavit said a total of $728.61 worth of items were stolen.

The Collierville Board of Mayor and Aldermen will appoint a replacement in accordance with state law, according to the Collierville Schools statement. That person will serve until the next municipal election in November 2024.
