MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A new garden has opened up in midtown Memphis for a group of high school students with Compass Community Schools.
Students are digging and planting a rain garden on campus.
In science class, the scholars are learning how rain gardens slow the pollution process and improve the quality of the water cycle in urban areas.
Creating the actual garden provides a hands-on experience for the students to connect with what they're learning and see the lesson in action.
