MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A new middle school is on the way in Frayser.
Bob Nardo, the executive director of Libertas Charter School, spoke about the new middle school at Thursday’s weekly Frayser Exchange Club meeting. He said it should be ready for launch next year.
Nardo also discussed the progress of the before and after-school tutoring programs as the third-grade reading retention law enters its second year.
He emphasized the significance of the community in helping the program to grow and impact as many students as possible.
Nardo said education should go beyond traditional school boundaries and hours. He believes the community has valuable wisdom to impart to children and hopes for a shift towards a collaborative, community-based approach to learning.
