MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The University of Memphis will hold its spring commencement ceremonies this Saturday at FedExForum.
The university said 2,858 total students are receiving a degree or certificate. 1,722 are earning their undergraduate degrees, and 836 are earning their master’s or specialist degree. 115 total certificates are being handed out, with 102 earning their juris doctor and 83 earning their doctoral degree.
Three commencement ceremonies will be held at FedExForum over the course of the day on May 4. For all ceremonies, graduates and guests are asked to arrive one hour before the ceremony is set to begin.
Former Tigers football player Stephen Gostkowski, who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 15 seasons, will be the commencement speaker.
The school said Avron B. Fogelman, for whom the Fogelman College of Business & Economics and the Avron B. Fogelman Center for Professional Career Development is named, will receive an honorary doctorate degree during the afternoon ceremony.
Here’s a look at who will be honored during each of the ceremonies:
- 10 a.m. - TigerLIFE Completion Academy, College of Communication & Fine Arts (CCFA), College of Health Sciences, Kemmons Wilson School of Hospitality & Resort Management, Loewenberg College of Nursing, School of Communication Sciences and Disorders, and doctoral and master’s candidates in these areas.
- 1:30 p.m. - College of Professional & Liberal Studies, Fogelman College of Business & Economics, Herff College of Engineering and doctoral and master’s candidates in these areas.
- 5:30 p.m. - College of Arts & Sciences, College of Education, School of Public Health and doctoral, master's and specialist candidates in these areas.
