MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The University of Memphis is holding a series of on-campus events for students needing help completing their Federal Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) forms, responding to ongoing delays with the implementation of the revised application.
The FAFSA Completion Events — hosted by the university’s Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships — will provide opportunities for students to submit their FAFSA and obtain hands-on assistance from financial aid professionals.
The university said it has taken a few important actions to help students and families in funding their educational goals, including the following:
Extending priority financial aid deadlines to April 15.
Extending merit scholarship awarding
Working closely with state and federal offices as well as software vendors to make sure students receive initial aid offers as soon as possible
Encouraging students to estimate their federal financial aid eligibility by using the Federal Student Aid Estimator provided by the U.S. Department of Education
Scheduling multiple FAFSA Completion Events
The University also said it will make additional adjustments as necessary as it continues to monitor the situation.
A FAFSA Completion Event will be held Tuesday, Feb. 27, from 5-7 p.m. followed by two additional ones on March 12 and March 19.
Students can register for the event here.
