MEMPHIS, Tenn. — An unnamed fraternity at the University of Mississippi has been placed on interim suspension for hazing, just weeks into the new school semester.

An Ole Miss spokesperson told ABC24 it was made aware of videos showing alleged hazing.

“The University is aware of the videos and takes allegations of hazing seriously,” said the statement. “The university has placed the involved fraternity on interim suspension, which includes pausing new member activities. This should not impact the activities of other organizations on campus.”

Further details on which fraternity was involved has not been made public by college leaders.

At least two other fraternities at Ole Miss– Kappa Alpha Psi and Pi Kappa Alpha – were suspended in 2021 due to hazing incidents. They were barred from campus until 2025.

The University of Mississippi provides anti-hazing resources for students and parents, including a way to anonymously report hazing incidents. Find that information at https://greeks.olemiss.edu/hazing-resources-for-parents/.
