West Memphis School District announces new superintendent

Eric Foister has 30 years of experience in the field of education. Most recently, he has served as the Assistant Superintendent of the Wynne School District.

WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. — Foister has 30 years of experience in the field of education. Most recently, he has served as the Assistant Superintendent of the Wynne School District since 2021. His career began as a biology teacher and basketball coach in Florida. Later, Foister moved to his home state of Indiana, where he continued to teach biology and coach basketball while also teaching chemistry. In 2009, Foister took on several leadership roles in Clarksville, Tennessee, including Assistant Principal and Principal.

During his time as Wynne School District’s Assistant Superintendent, Foister helped lead schools, students, and families through disaster recovery from the devastating tornado of 2023.

“I am pleased to announce Mr. Eric Foister as our incoming Superintendent. His experience aligns with the District’s needs, and it is evident he is prepared to collaborate with community stakeholders and build a culture of academic and operational excellence” stated Dr. Kimberly Wolfe, West Memphis School District Board President.
