Here's a look at what's happening around Memphis in the month of June

All month long

Play Your Parks

Play Your Park offers kids and teens ages 5-15 the chance to get outside during the summer at City of Memphis parks. Parents, just show up and sign your kids in for games and activities, such as dodgeball, relay races, flag football, and much more! Lunch is provided for children. Play Your Park will be at five locations Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each week. Park locations change every two weeks. It is a drop-in program. Memphis 2024 Exhibition

The Memphis 2024 Exhibition runs through June 30 at the Dixon Gallery and Gardens. It's free and features all types art including paintings, sculpture, fabric art, photography, and more.

Summer Art Garden

Check out the Summer Art Garden at the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art. Artists have created a fantasy landscape in the plaza with whimsical creatures and design. It runs through Oct. 26.

GPAC Concerts and Happy Hours in the Grove

Among other exciting events at the Germantown Performing Arts Center, GPAC also hosts its Concert in the Grove series on Thursdays at 6:30 p.m., and Happy Hour in the Grove on Fridays from 5-8 p.m.

Rooftop parties at the Peabody

It's time again for the annual Rooftop Parties at the Peabody Hotel in downtown Memphis. The party season runs through Aug. 15. Find the full schedule at https://www.peabodymemphis.com/rooftop-parties.

Sunset Jazz at Court Square

Sunset Jazz at Court Square is a free family friendly Jazz concert series hosted by Just Jazzin’. The series is held annually, every 2nd Sunday of May through October. For the lineup and times, go to https://sunsetjazzmemphis.com/.

Jazz Saturdays 

Jazz Saturdays at the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art run through June 15. It's from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays. It's free for members, and free with general admission. https://www.brooksmuseum.org/event/jazz-saturdays-5.

Memphis Garden Walks

Sunset Skates

Cooper-Young Night Out

The Cooper-Young neighborhood holds its Night Out on the first Thursday of each month. Restaurants, bars, retail and service businesses stay open late with live music, discounts on food and drink, sidewalk sales, games, and more.

Memphis Pride Festival

The annual Memphis Pride Festival is underway, with the festival from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Robert Church Park in downtown Memphis, and the parade down Beale St. kicking things off at 11 a.m. Learn more at https://midsouthpride.org/.

East Buntyn Neighborhood Yard Sales

5th Raleigh Community Health Wellness and Safety Resource Fair

Family Fun Day at the Metal Museum

The Metal Museum hosts a Family Fun Day in conjunction with Repair Days and the annual F.I.R.E. Conference at the Museum. 2024 Liars Ball

T.R.A.P.'s Walk 2 Reduce Recidivism 5K

Free Fishing Day in Tennessee

Memphis Juneteenth Festival

The Memphis Juneteenth Festival is taking place at Health Sciences Park at 799 Madison Ave. in the Medical District from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day.  There will be a car exhibition from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and a Greek Yard Show at 6 p.m. on June 15. Juneteenth Douglass Freedom and Heritage Festival

The Juneteenth Douglass Freedom and Heritage Festival is three days of exhibitions, food vendors, educational workshops, and more, with performances by the African Jazz Ensemble and the National Jookin League. It runs 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, and 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Douglass Park at 1616 Ash Street.

June 15

Orange Mound Juneteenth Festival

State Representative G. A. Hardaway and the Historic Orange Mound Collaborative Group are hosting a Juneteenth festival at the Orange Mound Community Center. The festival will include inflatable bounce houses, food trucks, a 3 on 3 basketball tournament, the Sigma Steppers, and a youth talent showcase. It runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Orange Mound Community Center, 2572 Park Ave. 

Water Lantern Festival
