COLLIERVILLE, Tenn. — A Memphis-area hospital's emergency department is set to nearly double in size after announcing a $10 million expansion Tuesday.
Baptist Memorial Health announced their Collierville hospital is set to begin a $10 million expansion project to increase the size of the hospital's intensive care unit (ICU) and emergency department.
The expansion will move Baptist Collierville's ICU to the second floor, replacing shelled space on the first floor, according to the hospital.
The expansion will double the ICU bed capacity from seven to 14 beds, and increase the ICU's footprint to 17,000 square feet, according to the news release.
Baptist Health has four main hospitals in the Memphis area and an emergency department in Arlington.
