An appeal by Christopher Jones, sentenced to life in prison for killing his wife Heather Palumbo-Jones, has been denied. The appeals court affirmed the trial court’s judgements in the decision handed down Tuesday.
In 2013, after telling the public he did not know what happened to his wife, Jones led deputies to her body. Prosecutors say Jones choked her to death, then set her body on fire.
Prosecutors say Jones murdered his estranged wife during a bitter custody battle.
Jones was sentenced to life for the murder, and also two-years for abuse of a corpse.
