City of Memphis hosting a Dumpster Day in Raleigh this Saturday

The event will take place on June 22 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Hundreds of Memphians came out to get rid of solid waste.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — In an attempt to clean the streets of litter and illegal dumping, the City of Memphis is hosting another Dumpster Day at Raleigh on Saturday, June 22.

With this program, Memphis residents can use a dumpster to declutter and dispose of trash for free.

This "Dumpster Days District Cleanups" session will take place on Saturday, June 22 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 3096 Raleigh Millington Road, across from Walden Point Apartment Homes.

Residents can use this to get rid of trash in their homes or yards, but the City of Memphis Public Works Division is aiming for residents to help clean illegal dumping from the streets in their neighborhoods.

Some items cannot be disposed in the dumpster including:

  • dumpster Fuel Tanks/Drums
  • Motor Oil
  • Hazardous/Toxic Waste
  • Paint/Paint Thinner
  • Anti-freeze
  • Pool Chemicals
  • Commercial Waste
  • Pesticides/Herbicides
  • Batteries
  • Liquids of Any Kind
  • Animal Carcasses
  • Tires with Rims
