MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com)- Bishop William H. Graves, Sr, the 42nd Bishop of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, has died at the age of 83.
He presided over the First Episcopal District in Memphis from 1982 to 2010.
Graves was a past president of the National Congress of Black Churches Board of Directors. He also served as a National Board Member of the NAACP and the Tennessee Valley Authority.
Graves is survived by his wife and three children.
The cause of death was not released. Funeral arrangements are as followed:
