DESOTO COUNTY, Miss — A body found just south of a rest area on I-55 Friday morning was linked to a murder in Frayser, and MPD has arrested one person for the crime, according to the DeSoto County Sheriff's Office (DCSD).
Deputies said they responded at 11:30 a.m. to I-55 southbound after someone found the body of the young man.
DCSD said they were later contacted by the Memphis Police Department (MPD) about the man having similar features to a missing person from Memphis.
The sheriff's department was able to meet with the missing person's family, who confirmed that the young man was their family member. A further investigation by DCSD detectives revealed that the man was murdered in Frayser, according to the sheriff's department.
DCSD and MPD worked together to gather further evidence, and as a result, MPD charged one person with murder, according to DCSD.
