Memphis recording artist BreZay hosts release party for self-titled EP

This release had the most collaborations of any of her previous collections — she said she worked with 14 other artists, writers and producers.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A celebration took place Friday night for Memphis-based recording artist Breana Mitchell — known as "Brezay."

The release party for the R&B singer took place at Crosstown Concourse. 

Brezay grew up in the Germantown area and graduated from Southwind High School. Now, at 24 years old, she's reached her 8th year building her music career as an independent singer and rapper who plays on mixing various types of genres.

She released her second extended play project alongside Memphis producer "J Kidd." In doing so, she said she started tapping more into the rap side of her sound. 

"I want people to see that side of me because I can do it," she said. "I'm good at it, so I was like 'let me show them a different side of me.'"

The collection of songs on Spotify and various other streaming services.

"It's a lot that goes into the EP, so I would say, they're going to listen to the whole thing," she said.
