MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – Hundreds gathered for a vigil for 20-year-old Brandon Webber who was wanted for a crime in Mississippi.
U.S. Marshals shot and killed Webber Wednesday night. People with balloons filled Durham street in Frayser where the young father was gunned down.
TBI says Webber was shot after he rammed a stolen car he was driving into patrol cars as they tried to arrest him. Investigators say Webber stole the car and shot the owner five times June 3 in Hernando, Mississippi.
Webber’s shooting triggered a violent standoff between protestors and police nearby on Overton Crossing Wednesday night. Friday, friends, and supporters gathered with family as they try to reconcile the circumstances surrounding Webbers death.
