MEMPHIS, Tenn. — U.S. Marshals captured a woman Tuesday, June 18, 2024, wanted in a September 2022 crash that left two people dead.
The Memphis Police Department said officers responded to the crash about 3:55 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, 2022, at N. White Station near Sequoia Road. At the time, investigators said the driver hit two pedestrians, two parked cars, a curb, and a mailbox before crashing into a tree.
Both victims died from their injuries.
Police identified Tracy Totty who was wanted on charges of vehicular homicide - intoxication, vehicular homicide - reckless and aggravated vehicular homicide. The USMS Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force (TRVFTF) in Memphis then took on the case for a fugitive matter.
TRVFTF learned that Totty was in Nucla, Colorado, and provided leads to authorities in the state. Colorado authorities then found the suspect in a home and took her into custody.
She is now waiting to be extradited back to Tennessee.
