MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Cerelyn CJ Davis officially started her job as Memphis' new Police Chief Monday. She even had a special pinning ceremony done by Mayor Jim Strickland.
But Friday, she was sworn in publicly in front of Memphis residents.
This is part of Davis' initiative to make herself more visible to the public.
She also plans to get out and meet with local community organizations in an effort to help cut down violent crime in the Memphis area.
