MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – There were a bunch of cute little turkeys at St. Francis Hospital Tuesday. The nurses in the NICU department dressed up the babies in turkey outfits in honor of Thanksgiving.
This way, the new parents will get to celebrate the holiday withone of the things they are most grateful for this year.
“I think it helps the families. I think it makesthem, helps them celebrate this time in their life where they’re welcoming thenew baby to the family. It also helps with bonding and bringing them closertogether and to share in the excitement of having a new baby,” said Molly Smith,Assistant Nurse Manager, St. Francis Hospital.
The hospital provided the costumes. Officials say thisis part of welcoming in the holiday season at the hospital while celebratingthe new life in the NICU.
