MEMPHIS, Tenn. — This story will be updated.
City of Memphis attorneys filed a subpoena to produce documents, information or objects to Shelby County District Attorney General Steve Mulroy's office.
The subpoena was filed under the federal civil lawsuit brought against the City of Memphis by the estate of Tyre Nichols.
The filing requests any and all communication and or documents shared between Mulroy's office and RowVaughn Wells, as well as her attorneys.
District Attorney's office officials told ABC24 that they would adhere to the filing.
"We’ve already initiative communication with the attorney seeking the information," the statement said.
The subpoena also asks for any audio recordings or voicemails, as well as communications between Mulroy and the Department of Justice regarding Nichols, policies of the Memphis Police Department and Memphis Fire Department, and documents.
The subpoena also lists communications and documents shared between Mulroy and Preston Hemphill and Dewayne Smith, two former MPD officers who were fired for their role in the Nichols stop but never criminally charged.
Attorneys for the Wells family did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
