Shelby County law enforcement: police chase down 385 ends in East Memphis after young suspects carjacked victim in Collierville

The pursuit reportedly went through Collierville, Unincorporated Shelby County, Germantown and ended in East Memphis.

COLLIERVILLE, Tenn. — A police chase down most of 385, through Memphis and back east has ended without injuries or major damage, according to Shelby County law enforcement agencies.

The chase ended at Southern Cove and Southern Road in East Memphis. Police said the driver is suspected for carjacking a victim in Collierville. 

The Collierville Police Department (CPD) said that they received an alert towards 5 p.m. of a carjacked vehicle and found where it was. The pursuit "covered a significant distance" through Memphis and Germantown before concluding in the Southern Cove area of Memphis, according to CPD. 

Both of the suspects were young people and they both were apprehended, according to CPD. 

CPD collaborated with the Shelby County Sheriff's Office, Germantown Police Department and the Memphis Police Department during this incident. 

"We commend the professionalism of all of the officers involved and we are thankful for peaceful resolution," said Chief Dale Lane.
