Collierville Police investigating after three people die from drug overdose

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Collierville Police said an investigation is underway after three people died from a drug overdose over the weekend.

CPD officers responded to the report of the overdose just before 2 a.m. Friday, June 21, 2024, in the area of Homeville Rd., which is north of Poplar Ave., near Fletcher Rd.

Investigators said two people were found dead at the scene, and a third later died at the hospital. Collierville Police told ABC24 those who died were a 56-year-old woman, a 26-year-old man, and a 23-year-old woman.

Investigators said two others were also taken to the hospital as a precaution, but there was "no indication they were involved in the possible overdose."

CPD said a “white powdery substance” was found and is being tested by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI).

“Our thoughts are with the families affected by this tragic event,” said CPD in a statement.
