A man and woman have been convicted of robbing and killing a 32-year-old man in his home in southwest Memphis, Shelby County Dist. Atty. Gen. Amy Weirich said Tuesday.

A Criminal Court jury took about 30 minutes Friday to convict defendants Robert Belt, 26, and Jocelin Williams, 25, of especially aggravated robbery and first-degree murder.

Both will be sentenced to life in prison on the murder and face 15 to 25 years with no parole for the robbery when they sentenced March 16 by Judge Lee Coffee.

The two were convicted in the attack on Delvin Brown, who was found dead of multiple blunt force trauma to the head on April 20, 2015, in his home in the 5300 block of Airview Road near West Holmes and Weaver Road.

The case was handled by Chief Prosecutor Alanda Dwyer and Asst. Dist. Atty. Leslie Fouche, both of the Special Prosecution Unit (SPU) in Division 7. The SPU seeks maximum punishment for repeat felony offenders.
