MEMPHIS, Tenn. — An intersection near the airport is back open following a shooting and car crash involving injuries.
Memphis Police responded to the scene at Winchester Road and Winbrook Drive around 3 a.m. on Nov. 22, 2024.
Police originally sent a traffic alert around 4:30 a.m., stating that the intersection will be shutdown for an "undetermined amount of time" due to the investigation. Memphis Police say the intersection is open now.
At the scene, officers found a flipped car in a grassy field. According to the Memphis Police Department (MPD), three victims were taken to local hospitals with injuries.
A 23 year-old woman was taken to Regional One in critical condition, a 27 year-old man was taken to Methodist in non-critical condition, and a one-year-old child was taken to Lebonheur Children's Hospital in non-critical condition.
Preliminary information suggests that the woman was involved in a verbal argument at a different location before being shot at and involved in a crash, according to police.
