Memphis Police search for driver of red sports car in deadly hit-and-run crash

MPD investigators said a driver in a red sports car was headed westbound on Coleman when the driver ran a stop sign and struck a pickup truck.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police are asking for help finding the driver in a deadly hit-and-run crash Monday in the Berclair-Highland Heights area.

Memphis Police told ABC24 officers responded to a three-vehicle crash about 10:10 a.m. June 24, 2024, on N. Holmes St. near Coleman Ave. MPD said a man was dead at the scene when they arrived, and another man was sent to Regional One Hospital in non-critical condition. 

Tuesday, MPD investigators said a driver in a red possibly two-door sports car was headed westbound on Coleman when the driver ran a stop sign and struck a silver 2005 Toyota Corolla. They said the truck's driver was the man killed.

Investigators said the driver in the red sports car took off from the scene. They believe it should have damage to the right passenger side front corner quarter panel.
