MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Southaven Police said a crossing guard is recovering after being hit by a driver Friday morning at DeSoto Central Primary school.
SPD said the crossing guard was directing traffic at the schools near Getwell and Cherry Rd. when they were hit from behind in the center lane. Investigators said the guard was wearing proper safety gear.
The guard was taken to Regional One Hospital in non-critical condition with leg and back pain.
Police said the driver and witnesses remained on the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
