Humanitarian photographer Lisa Kristine is in Memphis to talk about her exhibit EnSlaved. She’ll be at the State of Tennessee gallery at the National Civil Rights museum Thursday to talk about the exhibit, which is currently on display at the museum.
“Enslaved” is a visual story of modern day slavery that more than 30 million people are currently trapped in.
“Photography has the ability to transcend language and it touches a very visceral part of ourselves,” says Kristine. “… And I think it’s a very keen way to invite people into being educated and aware of what slavery looks like today.”
The exhibit runs through March 6th.
