MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Shelby County Schools announced they received the resignation of Executive Director of Safety and Security, George Harris on Saturday Aug. 17, 2024.
Harris informed the District that he is stepping away for personal reasons, MSCS says.
Harris shared the following statement along with his resignation:
“Effective August 17, 2024, I will be resigning as Executive Director of Safety and Security for personal reasons. I have enjoyed my short time with an amazing team of Directors Riley, Elliott, and Boyd; they do amazing work.”
MSCS says the District fully supports this decision and appreciates Mr. Harris' willingness to serve in Memphis.
MSCS has no further comments on this personnel matter.
