Freedom From Unnecessary Negatives (FFUN) hosted its 13th Annual “Stop the Killing” Back 2 School community rally Saturday from 10 a.m.. to 1 p.m..

The event was held at Gaston Park Community Center at the 1000 block of S. Third Street in South Memphis.

The program gave way school supplies to kids in need for the school year. There were also other activities, entertainment, and free food at the event as well.

“We believe that education is the key to keep our youth free. Giving them school supplies will help them reach their potential. Our goal is to serve 1,000 economically disadvantage families”, stated Mr. Stevie Moore who is president and founder of F.F.U.N. and the Stop the Killing initiative.

Some invited guests included Mayor Jim Strickland, Mayor Mark Luttrell, Jr., Congressman Steve Cohen, Senator Reginald Tate, Judge James Russell, Interim Director Michael Rallings, and many others.

The event was free and opened to the Memphis community.
