A fire broke out early Wednesday morning in South Memphis, the Memphis Fire Department (MFD) said.

MFD said the fire occurred at a two-story house in the 800 block of Polk Avenue around 2:30 a.m. on Nov. 8. A space heater on the second floor bedroom caused the heavy fire, according to the department.

The house fire then caused another fire to erupt at the Park Place Recycling and Logistics center at 815 East Georgia Avenue near E E.H. Crump Boulevard, MFD said. Fire fighters had the fire under control about an hour later.
