Funeral service set for Marked Tree fire Chief Jamie McCrary

The funeral will be held Thursday, Oct. 19, at 1 p.m. at Marked Tree First Baptist Church. The interment will follow at the Marked Tree Cemetery.

MARKED TREE, Ark. — A funeral service has been set for Marked Tree fire Chief Jamie McCrary.

The Marked Tree Fire Department said the funeral is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 19, at 1 p.m. at Marked Tree First Baptist Church. The interment will follow at the Marked Tree Cemetery. A visitation was held Oct. 18. 

The fire department announced the death of McCrary Oct. 14. on Facebook.  

The fire department’s flags of the United States and Arkansas have been lowered to half-mast to pay tribute to McCrary and will remain at half-mast until the day after the Poinsett County fire chief’s interment, the department said. 

“Chief McCrary lived a life of service not only to the MTFD but to the Marked Tree Community as a whole,” the fire department said in their post. “His selfless service contributed to the success of the Marked Tree Fire Department and his legacy will live on throughout the ages.”

McCrary will be buried with full firefighter honors, the fire department said.
